Mr. Tom Ambruster the U.S. Consul General in the Far East during his study trip in December visited the Udege People national village of Krasny Yar.

During his visit, Mr. Tom Ambruster was hosted by the Udege community «Tigr» (Tiger), where they showed him the production of souvenir shop and the garments' sewing section, which was established with the assistance of USAID (U.S. Agency for International Development), the Khabarovsk Charitable Organization «Green House» and Environment Organization «Pervotsvet». He also visited a secondary school where the children performed the Udege national dances. The Consul General talked with local residents much and also went to visit famous Udege writer Alexander Kanchuga at his house.

In his conversation with the head of the settlement Krasny Yar Alexei Uza and the chairman of the community Vladimir Shirko the Consul promised to assist the revival of Udege culture and crafts in the frames of Programme «Green House».
